Developed in July 2017, ‘Swap this for that’ encourages the community to refuse single use plastic bags, bottles, straws and coffee cups and use sustainable alternatives instead. Help wipe out single-use plastics on the Northern Beaches.
A University of Connecticut study estimated that the world’s oceans contain a minimum of 5.25 trillion plastic particles, weighing 268,940 tonnes.
Swap This For That is one of the many ways Council is targeting single-use plastics, including its Waste Minimisation at Functions and Events Policy and Single Use Plastics policies.

Over 40 nippers starred in our Swap This For That video for nippers and this 2018/19 season we have visited Dee Why and Newport SLSC nippers to screen the video and give a short presentation.
