Fairy Bower, Tower Hill & The Isthmus Permits

The above Precinct Parking Permits expire on 30 June 2019 and you will need to renew your permit prior to this date to avoid the possibility of receiving an infringement notice.

You can apply for your permit at Manly Town Hall during normal business hours Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm or via mail using the Manly Parking Residential Parking Permit form and including required proof of residency documentation.

Manly Customer Service will also open additional hours to assist obtaining permits:

  • Thursday 27 June - 8.30am to 7pm
  • Saturday 29 June 2019 - from 9am to 12noon

If you have previously held a permit for this precinct and moved out of the area during this time you will no longer be eligible to apply for a permit.

Parking permit schemes were introduced around Manly CBD to give priority to residents for on street parking near their homes.

The following parking schemes operate:

  • Balgowlah  - Valid 1 February to 31 January
  • Ethel Street - Valid 1 June to 31 May
  • Fairy Bower - Valid 1 July to 30 June
  • Ivanhoe Park - Valid 2 August to 1 August
  • Ivanhoe Park Extension - Valid 2 August to 1 August
  • Little Manly - Valid 1 February to 31 January
  • Ocean Beach - Valid 1 April to 31 March
  • The Isthmus - Valid 1 July to 30 June
  • Tower Hill - Valid 1 July to 30 June
  • Tower Hill Extension - Valid 1 March to 28 February

Residents may apply to renew their Precinct Parking in person at Manly Town Hall, 1 Belgrave St, during business hours. Alternatively, download an application form.

What does a permit entitle?

A vehicle displaying a valid parking permit is able to park without time restriction within the area covered by the scheme (permits are only valid in their specific area) where the sign specifically states as noted on each area information sheet.

Vehicles not displaying a valid area parking permit must obey the time limits on the parking signs.

Who can apply for a permit?

The person living at a residential property who is the ratepayer owner/occupier of the property OR the tenant/s of the property.

How many permits can I apply for?

Each property may apply for up to three resident parking permits as well as one permit for a registered trailer.

How do I display a permit?

Permits must be displayed in a Council permit holder that can be purchased from Council. This clear plastic suction cap holder is adhered to the windscreen of the vehicle with suction caps and can be swapped between vehicles

Motorbikes are exempt from having to display a parking permit and can park unrestricted anywhere a residential permit holder can.

Trailer permits must be permanently affixed to the trailer and these can be purchased from hardware shops.

How long is a permit valid?

Expiry Date and Renewals

Permits are valid for 12 months. The expiry date is printed on each permit. Permits must be renewed prior to the expiry date to ensure infringements are not incurred. To renew your permits, please complete the appropriate application form and return it to Council. Holders should be re-used year to year.
