The 2019 Northern Beaches Young Writers' Competition is now open. Students in Kindergarten to Year 12 have until Wednesday 7 August to submit their story using this year's theme word, wild. Every year we have been so fortunate to have such talented and experienced writers judge the competition and this year is no exception.

Judging the Year 9 to 10 Category is best-selling author for young adult and adult fiction, Jaclyn Moriarty. Jaclyn's titles include Feeling Sorry for Celia, The Year of Secret Assignments and The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone. She has been the recipient of the NSW Premier's Literary Award, the Queensland Literary Award and the Aurealis Award for Fantasy. As well as that, her books have been named Boston Globe Honour Books, White Raven selections and Best Books for Young Adults by the American Library Association.

We couldn't be more thrilled that Jaclyn is joining us to judge the Year 9 to 10 category for 2019.
