The 2019 Northern Beaches Young Writers' Competition is now open. Students in Kindergarten to Year 12 have until Wednesday 7 August to submit their story using this year's theme word, wild. Every year we have been so fortunate to have such talented and experienced writers judge the competition and this year is no exception.

Judging the Year 11 to 12 Category for 2019 is the illustrious Erin Gough. Erin is the author of two award-winning young adult novels - The Flywheel, winner of the Ampersand Prize and Amelia Westlake, winner of the Reading Young Adult Book Prize. Her short stories have appeared in a number of different journals and anthologies including Black Inc's Best Australian Stories, Griffith Review, Going Down Swinging and Kindred: 12 Queer #LoveOzUA Stories. With Erin judging the entries, we know that your writing is in good hands!

We couldn't be more thrilled to have Erin join us to judge the Year 11 to 12 Category for 2019.
