Exciting changes are coming to Northern Beaches Libraries!

On the Tuesday 5 June, we will be launching a new library system that will provide seamless access to the collections of the six Northern Beaches libraries and allow customers to borrow, return and access the services at any of the branches.

Benefits to the new library system include

  • access to all the collections from the six Northern Beaches libraries using one online catalogue,
  • great new options for managing your library account including recommendations based on your reading history and better access to eCollections,
  • use your existing library card to access services at any branch on the Northern Beaches.

New Library System FAQs

Do I have to return my books to the branch I borrowed them from?

No. Books may be returned to any of the six branches on the Northern Beaches. 

I am a member of Manly Library. Can I still use my library card at Mosman, Stanton or Lane Cove Library?

No, however, if you wish to continue using the services of the Shorelink Library Network, it is free to join Mosman, Stanton or Lane Cove Library.

Manly Library will be withdrawing from the Shorelink Library Network. From Tuesday 8 May, Manly customers will no longer be able to reserve or request items from other Shorelink libraries.

From Tuesday 29 of May you will no longer be able to use your Manly Library card to borrow from Mosman, Stanton or Lane Cove Library or return your Manly Library books to these libraries. You will also need to return your Mosman, Stanton and Lane Cove books to those libraries.

Manly Library customers can continue to request items from libraries Australia-wide via our Inter Library Loan service.

Why has my PIN changed?

Moving from three systems to one, we needed to reset all customer PINs to a secure 4 digit number; your date of birth that you provided in the form of DDMM.  If you did not provide a date of birth, the system will notify you. You can easily change your PINs at any of the Council-owned libraries. 

If you are unable to log into your library account with this new PIN, please contact a library branch for help.

I am a member of Manly Library and Warringah Library. Does this mean I have more than one account?

Yes. If you were a member of two (or all three) of the former Council Library services, you will have more than one account on the new library system. Please come into any of the Library’s branches to merge your accounts.
