Celebrate creativity, inclusion and community  

This year, Northern Beaches Libraries is celebrating International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) with a series of free, inclusive events that bring people together through art, stories and shared experiences.

October to November, various times and locations

Create with Studio A

We're partnering with Studio A, a nationally recognised Sydney studio supporting artists with disability to host a series of creative workshops across Forestville, Mona Vale and Warringah Mall Libraries. 

Throughout October and November, adults with and without disability are invited to take part in six free workshops led by professional Studio A artists. Create alongside others, try something new and contribute to a community exhibition celebrating creativity and connection. We invite you to be part of something truly special.

Community exhibition

Artworks created during the workshops will be featured in a community exhibition at Mona Vale Library, launching on International Day of People with Disability, 

IDPwD Exhibition Open: Thursday 3 December, 11am - 12pm at Mona Vale Library

The launch will also feature a live, interactive experience with a Studio A artist. 

The exhibition provides an opportunity to celebrate the work created through the program and share the creativity of Studio A artists with our community and connect with new audiences. Closing 31 January 2027.

Our partnership with Studio A is supported by the Australian Library and Information Association's Social Cohesion Initiative. 
 

Story Time Takeover

Northern Beaches Libraries will also join the nationwide International Day of People with Disability Story Time Takeover.

Developed by ALIA, this special story time program features books, songs and activities that celebrate diversity, foster understanding and encourage inclusion. Join us as we explore stories that reflect the experiences and contributions of people with disability and help create a more welcoming community for all.
