Join us as we explore the world of robotics with Dot the Robot!

Each session will involve step-by-step activities to teach the key concepts of robotics and coding as well as help kids develop visual programming skills in a supportive environment.

This is a workshop for kids who are new to robotics and coding, no prior experience is required. If your child has experience, this workshop series may not be simulating for them and we recommend checking out our Makerspace Kits.

This workshop begins Tuesday 15 February and runs each Tuesday for eight weeks. Each session runs for 45 minutes. 

Ages 8 to 12 years old.

We are a Creative Kids Provider, please have your number ready at checkout to use your voucher.

There is no need to bring anything, all equipment is supplied and will be sanitised between sessions to ensure COVID-19 safe practices.

Workshop Outline 

Week 1 - Introduction to programming and coding with Dot the Robot

Week 2 - Learn about the coding concepts of sequencing and loops and use these to modify some classic games like Duck, Duck Goose

Week 3 - Expand on Week 2 with nested loops, variables and debugging and play Simon Says with Dot

Week 4 - Learn how to turn Dot into a dice and a mood lamp

Week 5 - Create your own interactive story with Dot

Week 6 - Bot Building 1: Build a body, costume or vehicle for Dot

Week 7 - Bot Building 2: Add behaviours to your Dot character

Week 8 - Meet Dot’s buddy Dash and apply your new skills to complete the maze
