Join local authors and journalists, Penny Flanagan and Ruth Devine, for practical tips on how to get your writing published. From print to digital, copywriting, novels to children’s books, they have done it all. Come along and be inspired.

Penny Flanagan is an adult and children’s author, musician and a regular contributor to The Sydney Morning Herald and various websites including, Newscorp,, babyology and Penny’s newest release Surviving Hal, tackles toxic family relationships and the destination wedding from hell. She also tours with her sister, comedian Kitty Flanagan, providing original music for Kitty’s popular stand-up shows.

Ruth Devine is an author, editor, journalist and digital content producer with 25 years’ experience, specialising in topics of parenting and health. Ruth writes adult fiction and non-fiction with her first children’s book series, The Chronicles of Jack McCool up to its 6th release. Ruth’s Irish heritage and her three sons, who have ADHD, inspired her series featuring a hero with ADHD.

Books will be available for purchase on the night.
