We are seeking feedback on the draft Display of Banners and Promotions on Council Facilities Policy (the draft Policy).

The draft Policy outlines Council’s position on the promotion of events, programs and services displayed on banners at our formal banner sites or displayed on Council facilities (e.g. Manly Town Hall) as a banner, illumination or otherwise. It aims to ensure a consistent, equitable and transparent approach for the management of requests to use these sites.


Key principles of the draft Policy:

To be eligible to hire Council’s facilities to display a banner, applicants must demonstrate their event or activity is consistent with the following:

  • primarily relates to an activity taking place in the Northern Beaches or relating to our LGA
  • furthers our Northern Beaches' sense of community including providing environmental, recreational, social, educational, and cultural benefits for our community
  • increases visitation to venues on the Northern Beaches
  • provides a direct economic benefit to the local economy.
