Energy Efficient Communities Program

Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources have just launched their Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020.

These grants will assist organisations to; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; improve energy efficient practices and increase the uptake of energy efficient technologies. 

Empowering Homes

NSW State Government’s Empowering Homes Program will support the installation of up to 300,000 solar-battery systems across the state over the next 10 years. The program will provide interest-free loans to eligible NSW residents to install battery and solar-battery systems. It is expected that the first battery or solar-battery systems will be available for installation in summer 2019/2020.

Energy Saver Program

The NSW Government's 'Energy Saver' program' offers discounts and incentives for households to reduce energy use and save on power bills.

There are subsidies available for:

  • Replacing appliances - You could be eligible for discounts on new energy efficient fridges and televisions. When you replace your old, inefficient model, you can receive: 40% off the cost of a fridge or 50% off the cost of a television.

  • Lighting upgrades - Subsidies are available to replace halogen down-lights with LED down-lights (includes cost of LED lights and installation).

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme

The Clean Energy Regulator's Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme creates a financial incentive for individuals and small businesses to install eligible small-scale renewable energy systems such as solar panel systems.
