    Landowners consent arrangements being resolved between residents and Crown Lands in order to lodge Development Applications.

    State Grant guidelines were undergoing revision following Council advocacy to enable financial assistance to provide protection works.

    August 2018 Second grant application for construction of works to protect public assets and provision of financial assistance to private works submitted to the Office of Environment and Heritage.
    September 2018 Following confirmation of landowners consent from Crown Lands, Development Application for the 10 properties between Stuart and Ramsey Street received approved by Council
    September 2018Council informed that grant application for construction of works to protect public assets and provision of financial assistance to private works was successful.
    September 2018 - May 2019 The conditions attached to the acceptance of the grant offer from NSW Government required a number of amendments, as the standard condition proposed by the Office of Environment and Heritage were not feasible for the financial assistance for private protection works component of the grant.
    May 2019 Grant funding agreement between OEH and Council signed.
    June 2019 Application process for financial assistance to deliver private coastal protection works open to eligible residents. Read more
    June - December 2019 Council started delivery of public coastal protection works with completion of protection for Collaroy car park.
    March 2020 Environmental assessment and design for future public works for Wetherill Street commenced. These works will be coordinated with works being undertaken by resident to the south and are scheduled to commence in November 2020. Once complete the works at Wetherill street will result in almost 400m3 of rock currently on the beach being removed from Collaroy-Narrabeen Beach
