Local businesses are vital to the Northern Beaches, providing growth and jobs in our area as well as making it a vibrant place to live and work. With over 32,000 businesses on the Northern Beaches, our small business economy is thriving with over 90% employing five people or less.

October is NSW Small Business Month and to celebrate we’ve got a series of free events to help your business succeed. You can gain valuable support, be inspired to grow your business and network with like-minded people.

There are also plenty of opportunities to connect with Council and learn about:

Presented by the Australian Cyber Security Centre, this workshop will help you to understand common threats and take simple steps to better protect your business and secure your online information.

Doing Business with Council

Thursday 17 October, 11.30am-1.30pm

Come along to a free information session to help you understand how to successfully navigate local government procurement requirements and tips to strengthen your quotation and tender responses.

Grant Writing for Business

Friday 25 October, 1-2.30pm

This workshop will help you to develop a successful approach to grant applications with information on how grants operate and the objectives of organisations offering grants.

Five Tips to get Five Stars- Food Safety for Business

Tuesday 29 October, 2-5pm

Improve your food safety score- our Environmental Health team will help you to understand the regulatory requirements to start or grow a food business, common issues our inspectors find and learn about what actions you can take to increase your rating.
