To accommodate people wanting to exercise after work hours, we have been turning the lights on at a number of local sportsfields.

This allows people working at home to still enjoy some exercise as well as spread the demand longer through the day. 

The current Health Orders allow you to exercise with one other people that doesn't live with you, socially distanced. It does not allow for community sport (either training or a match). 

There have been some small changes to the original lit fields - see following for the full current list.

Unless specified below lighting hours are: 

  • 9pm, Monday to Friday
  • 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 

Fields are weather dependent. Check if rain has closed a field

Natural and synthetic grass:

  • Lionel Watts synthetic, Belrose
  • Killarney Oval
  • Forest Melwood synthetic field, Forestville
  • Seaforth Oval
  • Allambie Heights Oval
  • Careel Bay mini fields, Avalon
  • Newport Oval (until 8pm M-F)
  • Lake Park, North Narrabeen
  • Terrey Hills Oval
  • James Morgan Reserve, Dee Why (until 8pm M-F)
  • Harbord Park, Freshwater
  • Griffith Park Collaroy
  • Manly West Reserve, Manly Vale 
  • Beacon Hill Oval
  • Keirle Park, Manly
  • Bantry Bay Reserve (until 8pm M-F)


  • Boondah Road multi-use courts, Warriewood
  • Avalon multi-use courts
  • John Fisher hardcourts, Abbott Road Nth Curl Curl
  • Forest Melwood hardcourts, Forestville
  • Lionel Watts hardcourts, Belrose

Dog exercise areas (as per normal):

  • Frenchs Forest Showground - 7 nights a week till 9pm.
  • LM Graham dog area (outside field) - 7 nights a week until 8pm.
