A hard court at Killarney Heights Oval is now completed, giving the local community a new space to shoot hoops, get active and connect outdoors.
The new court includes a fixed basketball post, key and 3-point line marking enabling budding athletes the opportunity to improve their skills.
Additionally, drainage improvements have been undertaken to ensure the area is more usable and enjoyable for everyone. It is another way we’re creating inviting local spaces that support social connection, inclusion, health and wellbeing for the community.
The project was shaped with community input, with the majority supporting the new recreation space. That strong feedback helped confirm there was real enthusiasm for a hard court at Killarney Heights Oval.
The project is part of Council's broader Let’s Play! Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy to invest in local infrastructure, making it easier for people of all ages to enjoy active, healthy lifestyles close to home.
