Plastic Free July is a global movement helping us reduce our single use plastic usage.

By opting for reusable or plastic-free coffee cups, food containers, straws and drink bottles, we can all help make a huge difference to plastic waste reduction.

This July, a number of Manly sushi businesses are swapping the traditional plastic sushi containers for compostable soy droppers. This initiative - launched by Surfrider Foundation Northern Beaches – is designed to stop these single use plastic items from being littered and entering our precious environment.

Council also provides cigarette butt bins around Manly Wharf and fishing tangle net bins across the LGA. These bins help keep these cigarette butts and fishing tackle, which contain plastic, out of our waterways and away from our marine life.
