Japan, home of the prestigious Senshu International Marathon
Are you a keen marathon runner interested in participating in a prestigious international event? Then the Senshu International Marathon in Japan might just be for you.
Northern Beaches Council is looking for two runners to represent the Northern Beaches community at the marathon being held in Tadaoka (near Osaka, Japan) on 16 February, 2020.
Return airfares from Sydney to Osaka will be paid for by Tadaoka Town Government, along with the costs of accommodation for the two runners while in Japan.
The Senshu International Marathon is one of the major sporting events in Japan, with over 5,000 runners from across the country and overseas. It takes place in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture, passing through nine cities and four towns.
The successful applicants would be away from Australia from 13 to 18 February 2020 and must be aged 18 and over and a resident of the Northern Beaches.
Participants are required to have previously run at least one marathon in under 5 hours and be Australian citizens.
Application forms can be found on Council’s website and entries close on Friday 8 November 2019.
