Since our Back to Business program launched only three weeks ago, we’ve already received over 100 submissions from local businesses on how we can help their recovery.
Restrictions are set to ease in October, but many our local businesses will still find it tough due to capacity limitations.
We’ve already had so many great ideas from hairdressers, beauty salons, restaurants, cafes, breweries and more on how Council can support them to reopen, whether that’s through increased outdoor dining, using their footpaths for merchandise or as client waiting areas, as well as other innovative ideas.
One great idea was from Collaroy Services Club who are extending their outdoor dining to the delivery area outside in the carpark, thanks to a permit from Council. The temporary outdoor dining space will have beautiful views of the beach and is a way for the club to serve patrons COVID-safely.
When restrictions ease in October, another business who will enjoy more outdoor dining will be Muchacha in Narrabeen. With approval from Council and some assistance to get their Liquor Licence extended by Liquor & Gaming NSW, locals and visitors will be able to enjoy Mexican and margaritas in the warm Spring air.
Hairdressers from across the Northern Beaches LGA have been approved to use the footpath outside their businesses for client waiting areas. With reopening limits set to 5 people, this will mean they’re able to see more clients, and more of our locals can finally get that haircut we’ve all been waiting for.
These are just a few of over 100 ideas that have been submitted. If there’s a way we can help you reopen your business, please send us your ideas – big or small!
