NSW Health pop up testing clinic in Avalon is now open and a pop up clinic at Newport Community Centre will open this afternoon at 2pm. 

Avalon, Mona Vale and Newport testing clinics will be open 24/7 until further notice. 

NSW Health has clarified the venue at Palm Beach is the toilet and change rooms adjunct to the Palm Beach rock pool.

Council has conducted a deep clean on all public amenities at Palm Beach.

Council is also providing all the identified small businesses with support for deep cleaning services.

Other Northern Beaches testing centres are located at:

• Mona Vale Hospital, Gate 3 Coronation Street, Mona Vale – walk-in clinic –

• Brookvale Community Health Centre, 612-624 Pittwater Road, Brookvale – open 8am-10pm 7 days

• Northern Beaches Hospital, 105 Frenchs Forest Road (West), Frenchs Forest, (Rear of Emergency Department) – open 8am- 5pm 7 days

• Manly Histopath Drive through, Old Manly Hospital, 150 Darley Road, Manly,– open - 9am-4pm Monday to Friday

NSW Health has issued the following health alert:

NSW PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT – NORTHERN BEACHES

NSW Health has been notified of further venues of concern following the two new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon in the northern area of the Northern Beaches.

Anyone who has attended the following additional venues is considered a close contact and should get tested and isolate for 14 days even if they receive a negative result: 

  • Hungry Ghost Café, 20 Avalon Parade, Avalon – Sunday, 13 December, 9.30am-11am and Tuesday, 15 December 9.30-11am
  • Sneaky Grind Café, 3/48 Old Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach – Monday, 14 December, 9.30-11am
  • Barramee Thai Massage and Spa, 4/42-44 Old Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach – Monday, 14 December, 2-3.30pm
  • Bangkok Sidewalk Restaurant, 1/21-23 Old Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach – Monday, 14 December 7-8pm
  • Avalon Bowlo (bowling club), 4 Bowling Green Ln, Avalon Beach – Sunday, 13 December, 5-7pm (not 3-5pm as previously reported) and Tuesday, 15 December 3-5pm
  • People who have visited the following venues should get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result:
  • Bing Lee, Gateway, 1 Mona Vale Rd, Mona Vale – Monday, 14 December, 4.30-4.45pm
  • Woolworths Avalon Beach, 74 Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach – Tuesday, 15 December, 12-12.30pm

A number of venues of concern were also advised earlier this evening.

People who attended the following venues are considered close contacts and should get tested and isolate for 14 days even if they receive a negative result:

  • Palm Beach female change rooms – Sunday, 13 December 9-9.15am
  • Coast Palm Beach Café, Barrenjoey Rd, Palm Beach – Sunday, 13 December 10-11am

People who have visited the following venues should get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result:

  • Oliver's Pie, Careel Shopping Village, 1 Careel Head Rd, Avalon Beach – Monday, 14 December, 9-9.15am
  • Woolworths Avalon Beach, 74 Barrenjoey Rd, Avalon Beach – Sunday, 13 December, 12-5pm Please note: it was previously incorrectly reported that people who attended at this time were close contacts who should isolate for 14 days.

The source of these new infections is under investigation. At this stage, no links have been identified to other known cases. Contact tracing and urgent genome sequencing are underway, with genome sequencing results expected in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Everyone living in the Northern Beaches area should monitor for even the mildest of symptoms and come forward for testing immediately if they appear, then isolate until a negative result is received.

North Narrabeen Clinical Labs Pathology, 1416 Pittwater Rd, Narrabeen – drive-through clinic – open 10am-2pm Monday-Friday

These latest cases, and the case from south-western Sydney announced this morning, will be included in the numbers reported on Thursday morning.
