Hear what matters most to local young people in the annual Have Your Say Day on Wednesday 20 May 2026 at Stella Maris College.
Now in its fifth year, the free youth-led event was initiated by the Youth Advisory Group (YAG) and developed with a network of local school leaders known as the Beaches Leadership Team (BLT).
The format gives students an opportunity to present on issues affecting their peers and connect with community leaders and decision-makers.
Students from 9 schools are expected to present on 8 key topics shaped by survey results from more than 2300 young people.
Presentations span transport concerns and education, environmental sustainability and community connection, placing youth wellbeing and the future of the Northern Beaches at the centre of the discussion.
To help presenters build advocacy skills and prepare for the event, the Office for Youth NSW, a key partner, will facilitate an advocacy workshop for participating student leaders ahead of the evening.
Community leaders and decision-makers, including Local Councillors and State and Federal MPs teachers, parents, student support officers, youth services and local young people have been invited to attend, contribute to the discussion and help progress young peoples’ ideas into practical local outcomes.
Have Your Say Day 2026 will be held at Stella Maris College from 6-8pm on Wednesday 20 May. Tickets are available now. For more information, visit Council’s website.
