Great News! The DA for the new community facility at Jamieson Park, Narrabeen Lagoon has been approved so Council moves to the next stage of development: the build.

For many years perched on the bank of Narrabeen Lagoon in Jamieson Park has stood the well-used sports amenities block until fire ripped through the building destroying it in late 2021. The damage caused by the fire meant the building needed to be completely re-built.

Working closely with the community the new design was developed offering more storage for clubs including sailing, model boat and dragon boat groups. The plans also include a public café, accessible showers and toilets, watercraft facilities, and a meeting room available to both the community and clubs.

The design has a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion, with upgraded public amenities, accessible toilets, compliant ramps and wheelchair-friendly features to better support people with disability or limited mobility.

Sustainability has also been built into the plans, with solar panels, rainwater reuse and passive design features to help reduce energy use. The design takes an environmentally sensitive approach that respects Narrabeen Lagoon and the surrounding plants and wildlife.
