From Saturday 1 August 2020, the State Government has declared new rules will be in place for gyms and fitness centres to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in NSW.

A Hygiene Marshall will be on duty at the Manly Andrew Boy Charlton Fitness Centre at all times the centre is open. The Marshall will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of our COVID-19 safety plan are being adhered to including overseeing social distancing, cleaning equipment, providing hand sanitiser and ensuring accuracy of record keeping.

The Centre has registered it’s COVID-19 safety plan with NSW Government and is committed to ensuring the safety of its patrons.

Council is also supporting the many gyms and fitness centres across the Northern Beaches by offering information and advice about the new rules. All gyms and fitness centres must take all reasonable steps to reduce the transmission of COVID-19.

Under the new rules, all gyms and fitness centres must:

  • register and have a COVID Safety Plan
  • have a dedicated COVID-19 Safe Hygiene Marshall on duty at all times.
