Forest High student Charlie Burt has won the KALOF and One Eighty Inc People’s Choice Award for Express Yourself 2022.

His textile and fibre work, ‘The evocative underground’, was the most voted for at this year’s annual exhibition of more than 50 HSC Visual Arts students. Charlie received a $200 cash prize and a place in One Eighty’s Community Training Program valued at approximately $300.

Runner-up Elle Fitzgerald from Northern Beaches Secondary College – Manly Campus received a $100 cash prize and a One Eighty merchandise pack for her series of paintings, ‘My pantheon of gods and goddesses’.

This year, 937 votes were received for the People’s Choice award.

Congratulations to the winners and all the artists selected in this year’s Express Yourself exhibition.

Express Yourself is an annual exhibition of artworks by HSC Visual Arts students, selected from the 20 secondary schools across Sydney’s Northern Beaches at the Manly Art Gallery & Museum.

Express Yourself 2022 is also one of 25 youth activations that took place as part of NSW Youth Week celebrations across the Northern Beaches
