Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or a complete novice, the Northern Beaches has an ocean swim to suit you this summer.

Swim in the new year with 2020’s first Northern Beaches ocean swim. The 400m, 800m and 2km events offer something for the young, the new-comers, or well-seasoned veterans. A true, ocean swim, conditions can be tough as there is little protection from the ocean conditions at this open beach.
This gorgeous locale is the perfect spot for a mid-January dip. Beginners can try their fins on the 800m course and later in the morning, the 1500m race begins. Organisers have made sure there’s enough time to warm up with the 800 if you are up for both races.
This Warriewood to Mona Vale ocean swim is particularly challenging, heading north from Warriewood and travelling behind the break onto Mona Vale. At 2.2km, this one will prove tough for even the most hardened ocean swimmer. For those looking for something a little less scary… the 900m 'Little Swim' is held in Bongin Bongin Bay on the same day, just a bit further North.
This might be NSW's oldest ocean swim. This true ocean swim from Palm Beach to Whale Beach takes you around the headland through the Tasman Sea. Swimmers can choose courses between 2.5 - 2.8km. Conditions can vary from dead calm to testing south-easterly or uncomfortable nor'easter with swells from all directions. This one isn’t for the faint hearted.
This is one of Australia’s most historic and famous ocean swim events. The Cole Classic also takes place at one of the world’s most famous locales, starting at Shelly Beach and finishing in front of Manly Life Saving Club. This swim caters for all ages and abilities with 1km, 2km and 5km events. Enter now
Enjoy this 1.5km ocean swim at one of our most beautiful beaches. A mid-distance event, the generally protected beach usually provides an enjoyable swim in crystal clear waters suitable for all abilities.
