Northern Beaches Council has released a draft masterplan for the Brookvale town centre area.
The plan would revitalise the area and allow more mixed use development around the incoming B-Line bus hub, creating a new night-time economy while at the same time retaining and increasing employment spaces
Warringah Mall would be supported to retain its function as the major retail centre and employer for the Northern Beaches.
New residential development up to six storeys would have a target of 10 per cent affordable rental housing to help retain Brookvale’s industrial roots.
New parks and open spaces would be included.
The plan will guide future development within Brookvale as well as any land use changes to ensure that it can function as a vibrant, sustainable employment focussed centre.
Details of community consultation on the plan will be released at a later date.
