The Northern Beaches draws members of the community from China, Italy, South Africa and the Philippines as well as Tibet, Nepal, Pacific Islands and New Zealand. We have a community development grants program and our libraries offer books, information and language learning resources for people from other cultures. Our community is on Gai-Mariagal land.

During Harmony Week our community celebrates multiculturalism and our diversity community. The Gai-Mariagal Festival celebrates First Australian culture and heritage in the Northern Sydney region, including the Northern Beaches.

Northern Beaches Council would like to wish Eid Mubarak to our Muslim friends on the Northern Beaches as you celebrate Eid al-Adha. We hope that celebrating in this unique and difficult time will not detract from its significance and the joy felt on this special day. A local community member, Abdul Rahman, has kindly shared this explanation of Eid al-Adha.
On the Northern Beaches you can find a Tibetan Learning Centre, hold school Cultural Days, attend weekly cultural and language events and Pacific Beats nights. There are cultural clubs established by European migrants who have brought their traditions to our community, including those from Austria, Armenia, Sweden and the Netherlands.
