Filmmakers to race against the clock for 24/7 Festival

247 Film Fest
Wednesday, 5 July 2017

Young filmmakers, aged 12 to 24, are being encouraged to enter the 24/7 Youth Film Festival for a chance to win $5,000 in cash prizes - but there’s a catch.

Participants only have 24 hours to create the movie. It must be filmed on the Northern Beaches or at Mosman and cannot be longer than seven minutes.

Registrations take place on Saturday 29th July between 10am and 12pm at Star of the Sea Theatre, Stella Maris College, Manly, before the timer is set.

Northern Beaches Council Acting General Manager Planning, Place & Community Melissa Messina said mobile phone cameras have helped make 24/7 Youth Film Festival 2017 the most accessible competition yet.

“The concept behind 24/7 hasn’t changed too much over the Festival’s 16-year history, but technology certainly has,” Ms Messina said.

All entries will be screened at Hoyts Warringah Mall at Brookvale in August, as well as an awards night on 10 September.
