Applications have now closed for the second and final round of grants offered under the NSW Government’s Stronger Communities Fund.
One-million-dollars has been made available to the community in the two grant rounds that have been designed to kick-start the delivery of projects that build a more vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community.
Northern Beaches Council Administrator Dick Persson AM said they had received 90 applications from incorporated not-for-profit groups which had to demonstrate that their project would benefit the Northern Beaches community.
“This is a great initiative that will help community organisations deliver social, cultural, economic or environmental benefits that address Council’s identified community priorities such as community safety, the natural environment, youth, recreation and art, culture and heritage.”
The maximum grant amount for the second round of funding is $50,000 for any individual project, with a minimum of $5,000.
Half-a-million dollars has already been given to community projects in Round One of the million-dollar grant initiative.
Recipients of the Round 2 Grant funding will be announced at Council’s July meeting.
