We are incredibly thankful to have a resource like Story Box Library this ANZAC Day. Although we have to stay inside, we can still commemorate this important day by listening to a story.

The Happiness Box read by Tony Wilson

In 1942, Sergeant 'Griff' Griffin was a prisoner of war. With Christmas approaching, he decided to make a book for the children cooped up in nearby Changi Prison. The book was said to contain the secrets to happiness but the enemy was suspicious.

Alfred's War read by Richard Green

This poignant narrative opens our hearts to the sacrifice and contribution that Indigenous people have made to Australia's war efforts, the true extent of which is only now being revealed.

I was only nineteen read by John Schumann

John Schumann reads aloud his powerful lyrics about the Vietnam War in front of Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance.

ANZAC Biscuits read by Tiffany Speight

This is a tender story about a family torn apart by war, yet bought back together through the simplicity of ANZAC Biscuits.

Lone Pine read by Jan Wositzky

Based on a true story, this is an incredible moving tale of how a simple gift of a pine cone from a soldier to his mother becomes a national symbol of remembrance.

ANZAC Ted read by Mike McLeish

This is a powerful story of a little boy's teddy bear that was passed down to him from his grandfather. Battered, torn, missing an eye and an ear, he might look scary but he's got a great story to tell. For ANZAC Ted went to war, keeping soldiers company and giving them comfort.
